Participants completing this presentation will be able to:

  • Understand the definitions of Telehealth, Ethics, and Technology.
  • Identify specific types of technology in the counseling field that are currently being utilized.
  • Learn what professional organizations say about Technology, Ethics, and Telehealth
  • Access resources to refer to for further information and advocacy.
  • Formulate strategies to determine how to best use technology in the counselor’s personal practice.

About the Instructor:

Roberta Bogle, MS, LPC-S, LAC, CCMHC, ICCS, BC-TMH has been the Clinical Director at The Center since it opened in 2011. She has over 18 years of experience working in residential and out-patient treatment for mental health and addiction problems. As a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor and a Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor, Roberta welcomes individuals, couples, and families to assist them in dealing with emotional, relational, cognitive, behavioral, and spiritual challenges. She takes a holistic approach integrating evidence based spiritual, cognitive, and behavioral techniques to provide wellness, restoration, and healing. Roberta is a certified Prepare/Enrich Marriage and Premarital Counselor and Trainer, a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor Supervisor, a Gottman Method Level 2 trained relationship counselor, a trained EMDR therapist, and a certified Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapist. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology-Psychology from Wesleyan University in Connecticut and her Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Wright State University in Ohio. She is a member of the national and South Carolina state chapter of the American Mental Health Counselor Association and is a certified instructor to provide Continued Education Units in the state of South Carolina LLR Board #4542.  As the Clinical Director of The Center, Roberta has a passion to fulfill the mission of The Center, “To Bring Hope and Healing to Mind, Body, and Relationships.” This mission applies to all potential clients.  A critical part of accomplishing this mission, removing barriers to services, such as, stigma, finances, cultural issues, health concerns, and transportation.  The use of technology is becoming more and more necessary to keep up in our rapidly changing world.  We will explore some of the challenges to using technology in safe and ethical ways to serve our clients in the best ways possible.

There will be a check-in mid-way through the presentation and there will be no break due to the Webinar being only 2 hours long.
