Learning Objectives: Participants completing this presentation will be able to:

1. Types of substances and their effects, including methods of use.
2. Assessing using ASAM criteria.
3. Outline continuum of substance use disorder mild/moderate/severe.
4. Understanding basic brain chemistry of substance use disorders.
5. Identify treatment modalities and continuum of care.
6. How alcohol and drug addiction affect the whole family.
7. Understand the recovery process, relapse prevention, long-term recovery maintenance.

About the Instructor:

Robin Reynolds, MA, LPC, LPC/S, CACI, BC-TMH: Robin has been with the Center for Counseling and Wellness for over three years. She has extensive knowledge about substance use disorders through working with several agencies that specialize in use disorders. Robin uses a combination of techniques, including CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) and mindfulness, to help clients process trauma, improve their self-esteem, develop healthy ways of coping with life stressors, and enhance their functioning at home/school/work, and in their community. Robin has extensive training in PTSD and is Certified in Addiction Counseling. Robin has a gift for working with others and has an immense passion for working with those struggling with substance use. She looks forward to sharing her knowledge and assisting other clinicians in their work with individuals with substance use disorders.

Webinar sign-in is available 15 minutes before the webinar begins. There will be a check-in mid way through the presentation and there will be no break due to the Webinar being only 2 hours long. When the course adjourns, a link for the Evaluation Form will be sent by email within 24 hours to the email on file for the participant. A CE certificate will be sent after receipt of the Evaluation Form within 5 working days.
